Lofoten – årstein

Crossing the Lofoten

Lofoten – årstein

At Gunnar

« Better would be too much », this is the slogan of team 20 (Daniel and Marie-France). This is certainly what the vast majority of participants feel since crossing the Lofoten. Its sharp mountains are reflected in a water as transparent as in Polynesia, its small red, blue, yellow or white houses that contrast with the green trees and hanging meadows provide an ideal setting for our amateur photographers. We are near the house of Gunnar, a Norwegian who welcomes each year the Paris-North Cape and with who we climb the summit which dominates us between 22:00 and 2:00 in the morning. Our arrival at the top is tinged with an orange light that offers us the sun that just disappeared behind the deep “Troll Fjord”. Whether they are 10 or 70 years old, our hikers are out of breath, not necessarily because of the difference of altitude, but because of what they can see at the top.
